Good Morning! Yesterday I had high hopes for today...then last night the kids asked if we could watch Little Miss Sassy Pants today while they went Christmas shopping. Her daycare provider is off sick and they needed someone to watch her and of course we said YES! DH is even staying home again today so we could make some Christmas cookies! I have fond memories of making messes in the kitchen while my Mom made all kinds of goodies for the holidays. She would make fudge, missionary balls, buckeye balls, and several different kinds of cookies to give to our neighbors...and it was a tradition we carried on when we were renting from different places. The office folks would look forward to our trays of goodies each year...several of them asking for recipes and how I made my chocolate chip cookies so chewy...lol. (I followed the recipe on the back of Nestle's Toll House morsels...hahaha.) Anyway, she is finally old enough to cut out the cookies and decorate them so this should be loads of fun! I searched through my recipe box and then remembered my Mother's was stashed in the back of the closet. What a trip down memory lane to look through all her old recipes. Made me miss her like crazy all over again....
We got a little decorating done around the house...the tree only has hand made ornaments on it for now, I'll put the other "memories" on it soon...we just ran out of time. And I think my mantle is finally arranged the way I like it.
I made a little progress on Christmas House last night but doubt I'll get much done today. I really need to work on the border (my least favorite part of this pattern) so I can save the fun stuff for the end. I really enjoyed stitching that door...funny how all those different stitches seemed to give it a 3D effect...I really LOVE it, and pictures just don't do it justice!!
Ok, the pattern for today from Reflets de Soie has been added to the page above...and that's all I have for today. I hope you all have a little Christmas magic added to your day today! Maybe I'll have pictures of our adventures today on my blog tomorrow. Wish me luck! Happy Stitching!!
