April Gifted Gorgeousness

Wow, that month went by quickly.  It's been a roller coaster ride for the past two months.  I'm running as fast as I can...but that's not the point of this blog post.  It's Gifted Gorgeousness again!  I don't have much to report because I really haven't had much chance to stitch.

If you don't know much about gifted gorgeousness, head on over to Serendipitous Stitching and find out!  You can sign up for the challenge on this page.  Or if you want to check out what others are stitching for this challenge, check out this page.  Basically we showcase things we have stitched from materials gifted to us.  It could be a pattern, fabric, or a special floss.  Or...it could be a gift we are giving to someone, or someone has given us.

As I said before I haven't had much time to stitch, but I was able to finish up this ornament that is from the JCS 2008 Ornament issue.  I received several CDs with most of the back issues of JCS magazine a few years ago for Christmas from my husband!

I've been working on a challenge through our LNS where I have chosen 12 pieces I either wanted to finish or start.  The one they chose for this month was a gift my husband had given to me the year my Mom had a stroke and I spent several months taking care of her.  This is Come Let Us Adore Him by Lizzie Kate.

I've shown this particular SAL before, but I am so far behind.  I'm trying to catch up here and there and I made a little progess this month.  This is Quakers in Holland by Tempting Tangles.  This, too, was a gift from my husband.

I also finished Warm Wishes from the 2002 JCS Ornament Issue.

And also the Santa's Hat and Boots from the 2018 JCS Ornament Issue.

Last is a gift I was given from Mary who is a member of Friendly Stitchers Yahoo Group.  Each year we exchange a gift for Stitcher's Day.  I wasn't home at the end of March when they were due, but finally was able to see it after I returned from NY while trying to take care of my Mom's estate.  Isn't it beautiful?  Thank you so much Mary, I truly love it!!

And that, as they say, is that.  I'm hoping to wrap things up in NY as soon as I can.  In the meanwhile, I'll try to fit in stitching while I can.  Happy Stitching!

Well, that was quick!

Isn't that amazing?  I had a stitch day with friends on the 2nd of April and on the 3rd I finished this!  Here is Come let us adore him by Lizzie Kate!  This was stitched on the fabric that came in the kit along with the recommended floss.  I really enjoyed this project.  Sadly I think most of the others I have chosen for the challenge will take longer than this one did, but I'm glad, because I'm so far behind in my SAL's and challenges.  At least April was an easy and fun stitch!

Happy Stitching everyone!

April challenge

I mentioned in my last post that our LNS (The Stitching Post in Catonsville, MD) will be starting a new challenge to celebrate their anniversary.  I have a special page listed at the top that will notate my progress.  This is the first month of the challenge and the number we've been given was #9.  In my chart, that would be O Come Let Us Adore Him by Lizzie Kate.  It was a busy day yesterday (Thank you Marie for keeping me company while I ran errands.  It was great to see you if even for just a little while) but I finally managed to put a few stitches in just before bed last night.  Here is my starting point.  Let's see how far I get this month!

All the projects I will be working on for this challenge I have had in my stash for ages.  It's about time I pulled them all out and got working on them again!  I also have kitted up 4 other patterns for the ornament challenges I'm participating in.  I know, crazy right?  Wish me luck....and Happy Stitching!
