2019 TSP Anniversary Challenge

My local LNS (The Stitching Post in Catonsville, MD) is having a challenge!  I've devoted this page to this challenge.  I'm a little late posting as I've been a little preoccupied lately, but it starts today (April 1, 2019) so....better a little late than never, right?  Here are the rules!

1.  Fill in twelve projects that you want to start/work on/finish this year.  Take before pictures of them
2.  Make a copy of this chart for TSP and yourself.
3.  At the beginning of the month a number will be selected at random and that will correspond to the project you will work on for that month.
4.  At the end of the month, fill in your progress, show us your before AND after photos.
5.  All completed entries will go in a drawing for a gift certificate.
6.  By our next anniversary our hope is that you have twelve completed projects.  If not, at least you will have made some progress on your various stitching projects.

Here is a copy of my challenge chart, and the Before Pictures.

1.  Let it Snow - Blackberry Lane - New

2.  Take me out to the ballgame - LHN - New

3.  Marie Antionette's Kaleidoscope - Chatelaine Designs - 2%

4.  Christmas Mandala - Passione Ricamo - New

5.  When Cardinals Appear - Blackberry Lane - New

6.  Sarah Elliot's Sewing Chest - New

7.  Nativity Berry - Erica Michaels - New

10.  Winter's Majesty - Maia - 60%

11.  Chanson De Noel - Ekatrina Chaykouskaya - 10%

12.  Dance By The Light Of The Moon - The Nebby Needle - New

As they announce the number of the project we will be working on that month, I'll post before and after pictures again.  I hope I'm able to keep up with this challenge along with the other challenges I'm attempting to try this year too.  Wish me luck!!

April

For the first month they have chosen #9.  In my chart that would be O Come Let Us Adore Him by Lizzie Kate.  Here is my start on April 1st!

And here is my after picture.  I finished on April 3rd!

May

For the second month they chose #5 which was When Cardinals Appear by Blackberry Lane on my list.  I had a stitch weekend the first weekend in May so I was able to start and finish the same weekend!  I finished it on May 5th.  There were several ways I could have stitched it, so I chose the way to finish as a round ornament.

June

For the third month they chose the number 8.  That is Christmas Quaker Bellpull in my chart.  Here is where I started...

And here is the final for the month of June.  While I didn't finish, I did at least double the size!  Only 2 and a half pages left!

July

For the fourth month they chose #6 which is Sarah Elliot's Sewing Chest in my list.  Here is what it looks like...

Here's where I started on 7-15-19....

Here is where I finished on 7-25-19 ..... I made one small adjustment, I added one black sheep with the white sheep as a signature of myself.  haha

August

For the fifth month they chose #11.    That would be Chanson De Noel - Ekatrina Chaykouskaya in my chart.  Here is where I'm starting...

And here is where I finished 8-13-19

I just love her face, it was a challenging stitch, but I'm so glad I tackled it, I LOVE it!!

September

For the sixth month they chose #1 so I'll be stitching on Let It Snow by Blackberry Lane.  This will be a new start so I'll show you how far I got by the end of the month!

And this is where I finished! 9-8-2019

And....while I was supposed to finish this one in June, I have finally put the finishing touches on Christmas Quaker Bellpull by Wiehenburg Designs finished 9-12-2019.  Moving right along...

October

For the seventh month they chose #3....which is Marie Antionette's Kaleidoscope - Chatelaine Designs.

It's a big piece, so I'll try to finish, but there is a lot going on this month.  Here is where I'm starting....wish me luck!!

And...here is where I finished the month.  Too much going on to really make a dent, but you can see I did make progress!

November

For the eighth month they chose number 2 which turns out to be Take Me Out To The Ballgame by Little House Needleworks.  I've wanted to stitch this for ages, and decided if I didn't put it in this challenge it wouldn't get done.  I started this from the beginning on the 1st of November.  Let's see how far I get!

And....here is what it looks like now.  It is finished!!  11-21-2019

December

For the ninth month they chose the number 10....which is Winter's Majesty on my list.  UGH!!  I wish it had been another one, as I probably won't have time to finish this one, but I'm going to give it the old college try.  I like the challenge in one sense as it gives me the opportunity to commit to finishing up some of the languishing projects I've been meaning to finish....but I tend to put undue pressure on myself so it's kind of a bummer too.  I haven't decided if I will continue this into the New Year.   So.....here is where I am at the moment...

And here she is finished on December 18, 2019!!  I can't believe I finished her with time to spare!  Happy Dancing has commenced!!

January

For the tenth month they chose the number 12.  So...this month I'll be working on Dance By the Light of the Moon by the Nebby Needle.  I'm excited to start this one, I think it's so cute!  I've had this sitting in my stash for a while now, it was a pattern I bought at a retreat.  It is a new piece, so I'll be starting from scratch!  I hope I can finish it completely this month!

And here is were I finished...

February

For the eleventh month they chose the lucky number 7, and in my list that is the Nativity Berry.  This is a pattern by Erica Michaels.  I'm excited for this one, as many of you know, I collect Nativities.  So...as soon as I gather my wits, I'll be starting this lovely piece!  With all that's going on, I hope I can finish it off quickly.  Wish me luck!!

And here is where I finished on 2-6-2020.  It was stitched on 32 count Nocturne over two using the recommended threads.

March

For the twelfth month, and the last one of the challenge (can you believe the year is almost over since we started???) is Christmas Mandala by Passione Ricamo.  I have wanted to stitch this one forever!!  It's funny that the last four in the list are Christmas/Winter patterns...haha  I must have a thing for those kinds of patterns!  It doesn't look like much, but there is a LOT of stitching in this one!!  Anyway, here is the pattern...

Here are my first few stitches on March 1st...

And here is where I finished on March 3, 2020!

And now the challenge is finished....I'm sorry to see it is over, but kinda thankful that now I can choose what I want to stitch!
