Well it was a long time coming, but I finally reached down into my box of items that needed finishing and pulled out these 12 Days of Christmas ornaments from last year. It took me a few days (after a few bouts of vertigo) I finally sat really still, and without moving my head, I worked a bit on these ornaments. I finished up 4 a day until I had them done...here they are in various states of finishing...
After that I thought...I should finish up the set I stitched this year...but this is as far as I got. I will need some trim to finish up these, unless I really search through my stash again, which is not totally out of the picture...haha
I just can't seem to wrap my head around stitching lately. Maybe it's the state of the country (I should take a break from the news) or maybe it's that I feel a bit yucky after donating blood last week...who knows? I pulled out this pattern weeks ago (United We Stand) and got it started. I love it, can't wait to finish it so I can put it together and enjoy looking at it...but stitching it has been my nemesis! I truly need to get out of this funk!!! Here's where I am so far...
It's been quite a year for getting things finished up...maybe I'll stay on this roller coaster for a bit and finish up a few more things. Hopefully finishing things will make me feel like I accomplished something and stitching will look more appealing...either way...it's one step at a time...right?
Off I go...I hope you are all keeping safe and stitching on!

I love the way you finished the ornies, they look great!
I find stitching a great distraction from the real world right now. I try not to watch too much news on the TV. It's rented so I am not allowed to throw things at it!!
I just love your ornaments!!! Beautiful with the ruffle around them. I was feeling that way for a long time. I finally fell back in love with stitching. I hope you do too. Beautiful progress on your WIP. I've cut way back with the news. It sure does help a lot.
Your set of completed Days of Christmas are gorgeous, DJ. Well done! And good for you on getting the next set started on their finishing. I think your United We Stand piece is looking good. We only watch the local news here to get the weather forecast. It has been a game changer with the blah and stressed attitudes we had.
I love how you finished these ornaments.
My goodness! Just look at all those beautiful ornaments you finished up. Then more and now you have another piece going. I've had my times of being in a funk as well. It will all look better and come back soon.
We decided a couple of weeks ago, to take a five day break from news. I think with all the bad going on, people "like us" get all wound up. On edge and frustrated. So, for the five days, we stayed away from the news. Guess what! It felt great! Didn't miss it at all. Now we limit ourselves to only two hours a day. In the morning, we do one and after dinner, we do the other.
Have you tried candied ginger for your vertigo I wonder. It does help a lot of people. Three or four small pieces a day will work, if it helps at all. I hope it does.
I hope you start feeling better soon, and keep in mind that all the beautiful fall colors are on the way. Lots of pretty charts out there using them.
Have a blessed weekend.
