Happy New Year!

Happy New Year folks!  I hope you are having a wonderful start to your year.  I know I am.  A lot has been going on, I've been pretty busy with work and family so today was nice just to hang out and relax.  I've started the Crazy January Challenge again this year and have spent part of my day stitching.  But I'll get to that later.

We've had an interesting day, as our cat decided to take a little vacation from our family and scooted out of the house without being noticed while we took the trash out on Thursday night.  He was spotted a few times by folks in the neighborhood but we weren't able to catch him to bring him home...until today.  We saw a glimpse of him, spent a little while calling and looking for him then returned home to find him perched on our back deck waiting for us.  It's a great way to start the new year, now let's hope he decides to remain home!!!

I signed up for the crazy January challenge, where we start a new project each day for the first fifteen (or 31...depending on the depth of your craziness) days of the year.  I had a list and had all the materials assembled, and then I started seeing all these SALs popping up on the internet.  I signed up for a few of them, then got busy at work and wasn't able to revamp my list.  So the list went out the window and I just decided I would fly by the seat of my pants.  I saw this little freebie a couple of days ago on this website http://www.helene-et-mahelia.com/ and decided it would be the perfect one to start off the year.

It's in honor of The Year of the Dragon in the Chinese calendar.  I decided this morning that this would be my first of the crazies, and I was able to start AND finish it today!  The next time I work I'll try to get it framed and hopefully it will bring me good luck for the year!  It was stitched on 32 ct antique white lugana over two threads using DMC  123, 310, and 3801.

I don't have time today or tomorrow to sort out my list, but I'll try to post daily what I'm working on so watch this space!  To those who have decided to participate in the challenge, good luck my fellow crazies!  I look forward to watching your progress!

My prayer for everyone is a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year,  full of unexpected blessings!  *Hugs*
