Snow...AGAIN!

Hi all!

Yes, the dreaded snow monster has engulfed us AGAIN! I didn't post the day it snowed (Saturday) as I was stuck at work most of the day. My boss let us go 1 1/2 hours early (so I only had to work 8 1/2 hours instead of the full 10) I slid the whole way home and had to pry my fingers from the wheel once I was home. I got stuck after stopping for a red light on a hill, and the pick up truck behind me impatiently passed me at the intersection, dropped his plow when he got beside me spraying me with snow, then turned and plowed a swath for me to follow in. As soon as I crept that far along I had enough traction to get up to speed, but he didn't have to throw snow on me did he? LOL I wasn't sure if I should be angry or grateful...LOL. I'll be headed to work in a couple of hours and guess what!?!?! We are expecting a wintry mix tonight. Oh yeah *rolling my eyes heavenward* We NEVER get this much snow in Maryland! What in heaven's name is going on??????????

I think I mentioned in my last post about DS going to a church function. He was in a city about 45 min away (on a good day). They were supposed to be home at 8 PM on Saturday night. The youth pastor called and said they were going to stay another night because of the unexpected storm. He didn't feel comfortable driving home in that mess. I'm thankful he didn't. So... DH and I had another night home alone. *grin* Maybe the snow wasn't so bad after all! LOL

I had a curious conversation with my boss over the weekend though. I've had this book "The Shack" sitting on my night table for ages, and he told me he had downloaded the audio book and was listening to it. I knew this book had Christian themes in it and have been wanting to read it for a while...so I decided now was the time. I couldn't put it down! I finished it today at the doctor's office, and the curious thing there, was that THREE people asked me if I liked it, what I thought about it, and would I recommend it. It's strange what people notice when you think you are minding your own business. Well now that I'm done I'll have to have another conversation with my boss. It definitely "opens" doors of communication to talk about your faith. Sad thing is, my boss is treating it like a work of fiction (which it is...) but it can explain in relative terms what some confusing parts of "faith" can mean. I'm babbling...sorry, but if you haven't read this book, I DO recommend it. It will place your ideas about Jesus, religion, forgiveness and reconciliation in a whole new realm.

Speaking of the Doctor's office, I finally was able to make an appointment today! YAY! I've mentioned in some of the groups I belong in that I've been a little under the weather. I've been putting off going to the Doctor because she's been away on maternity leave. I'm so glad she's back because I don't trust anyone but her. I was beginning to think she was giving up her practice. I know it must be hard to go back to work, babies are wonderful...and they grow so fast, noone wants to miss anything and I can't blame her there. Anyway, I'll have more appointments and more tests done, but I feel much better after talking with her. In other words, I think I'm going to live..LOL I'll keep you posted. I have downloaded the Stash Will, just in case, so if anyone wants to be a recipient of any of my stash, just let me know! Otherwise, according to my DH, there will be a grand yard sale after my demise and you'll be able to pick up WONDERFUL bargains, or so I've been told. LOL

To those of you in the path of the oncoming storm, batten down the hatches, and stay warm, it's going to be a bumpy ride! LOL

*Hugs*

Oh, DJ, I so miss the snow here in England, I guess a kind of childhood nostalgia from the time I grew up in East Germany - lots of snow. But of course can be a pain and right out dangerous!
